Control your future!
RuneCaster provides the perspiration and you just add the loving inspiration. In any system the memory work involved is a major stumbling block. RuneCaster assembles all the information that would normally have to memorized and prints it out for you. You then only have to provide the inspiration in interpreting it.
Full background information is available on runes in the book RnR Runes and Remedies.
The screen is split in two with the left half being the control panel and the right half showing the results. This consistency for all the runemal layouts (A runemal is another word for a layout of runes) means you always know where things are.
Once the runecast (A runecast is a layout with picked runes filled in or is the action of creating this state) has been done the screen divider can be moved completely to the left so full attention and exposure can be given to the results.
The main items that change from runecast to runecast are all visible on the left half of the screen in the control panel without having to scroll down.
The left control panel is laid out in a intuitive 1-2-3 pattern of use so that it is very easy to do an actual runecast. See the Quick Start page for detailed instructions on just how easy it is.
Double clicking on any runemal (Candle, Ravens, ...) button will bring up help on when to use that runemal. The help screens are linked to each other so that you can scroll through them to find the right runemal.
You can also double click on any other button to bring up a help screen on what that button's functions are. This make RuneCaster very easy to use as all information is always available and never has to be remembered.
You can enter information such as the inquirer's name and what specific information they are after before doing a runecast. This is a useful memory aid if you are doing readings for a lot of people at once, especially people you have not met before. The information is right in front of you.
Inquirer information can be automatically repeated or not on activating a new runemal, again useful if you are doing a lot of people at once. This is especially true for the occasion box where you would have entered that this reading was done at a birthday party, an opening, etc.
The activation buttons (START / ACCEPT) change to PRINT and RESET once the runecasting for a runemal is finished. A small but nice convenience.
Once the START button is highlighted as being active, the choosing procedure can be completed by successively pushing on the space bar. This expedites procedures if you are so inclined to involve the inquirer in picking the runes.
All runecasts can be printed out; with a small "r" appearing next to reversed runes as a reminder that they are reversed if you are using a black and white printer and so not able to see the red color.
Runecasts can be done in a seeded mode where you pick the first rune and all others flow from that choice. This is a time and effort saver on longer runemals and is a matter of personal choice. Picking each rune individually is the traditional method.
You can choose whether a rune appears only once or can appear multiple times in a runecast. This duplicates the choice of consecutively picking runes from a bag or replacing a picked rune before the next choice is made.
Today's date is automatically entered but a new format, including no date, can be entered manually.
The RuneMeister can enter their name and have plenty of room left over to also enter their phone number, etc. This will automatically be entered in bold at the top of every runecast.
Information for the Valla Oracle questions remains unenterable until the Valla Oracle is picked as the active runemal. This is a reminder that this is not needed until appropriate.
All entered information only appears on the right hand recording screen when you post it. The information can be changed as often as needed.
A visual pictorial of the runemal layout appears first. Reversed runes appear in red. For advanced RuneMeisters this is all that is needed to give an interpretation and the printout is then only a convenient take home piece for the inquirer.
The meanings of picked runes and the significance of their position is given for every runecast. This eliminates the need for any memory work.
Runemal Forms (preprinted forms on which to record a runecast so the inquirer has a memento to take home) are provided for free downloading on this Internet site. These are either more versatile (as in 3x5 card format) then the RuneCaster printout or prettier. Making up your own Forms is a creative artistic way to express yourself. With the many excellent computer drawing programs available this is no longer a daunting or arduous task as it once was.
