Finding True Happiness
To find true happiness go down the road a piece, turn right, and then at the first crossroad you come to, that’s where true happiness will be waiting for you! A formula that is as useful as any to the masses who think there is a physical, mechanical, route to happiness. Then there are the people who think it is a mystical journey, like throwing a coin in a wishing well to have true happiness returned to you. The wishing well myth originates from Viking mythology of Mirmir’s magic well that would grant you whatever you wished for, and actually is just as useless a source of true happiness.
Two thousand five hundred years ago Socrates already postulated his Insatiability Warning that if you are not happy now, then you can expect that you never will be. This is reflected in a more modern aphorism that: “Success is getting what you want and happiness is being contented with what you have.” True happiness is found in the spiritual path of being grateful for what you have. To have more just raises the bar to what you want next. That’s right, you already have everything you need for true happiness. You just need to realize it and embrace it
But is it always that easy to embrace it? Of course not because most people actually do not like themselves at an unconscious level and these monster demons from the Id interfere with being able to enjoy oneself. There are many methodologies to overcome these monster demons but one of the simplest is the traditional Hawaiian practice of ho’oponopono. It is very simple in that all you have to do is to non-stop say the following four sentences: I love you. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. It may sound strange and weird that this works but there is centuries of traditional history to back up that it really does work. There is actually also modern psychology that backs this up in that what you are doing is giving yourself curative positive affirmations. Of course traditional Hawaiian kahuna holy men as well as many modern practitioners claim you are making a petition to a god who is answering your prayer; but the plain truth is that you are just applying some conditioning to yourself.
So that is how you find true happiness. It is already within you and with a simple technique you can learn to love yourself so that the true happiness can come shining through.
