Go With the Flow and Prosper
In some American universities professors have asked students in “scientific” experiments to visualize things such as doing well in an important upcoming exam. The experiments had the reverse result, if anything. Since visualization is one of the cornerstones of the Law of Attraction, what gives here? Even university professors can be ignorant and create faulty “scientific” experiments when their knowledge of the subject is no better then the general public’s understanding of urban myths.
As an explanation of what can go wrong let’s start with the experience of Shakti Gawain, a recognized authority on achieving results through visualization. Is she always successful? No, in one of her books she tells of how when she meets failure she becomes introspective and examines what in her psyche might be creating the failure. And that is the secret that the university professors didn’t understand. The requested results must be in flow with reality and what you are totally committed to. You cannot be visualizing getting a top mark when the examiner is visualizing giving such top marks only to people who demonstrate the required knowledge. In the university “scientific” experiment the students were asked to visualize but not to make any study efforts to increase their knowledge. If you visualize getting top marks in an exam and follow through with diligent study you will achieve success. You have to not only want something but be fully committed to it, not just think about it through visualization.
The above experiment reflects the rules of what can be asked of the Law of Attraction outlined in my book Accessing Awen. In the book I give the parallel example of an employee wanting a promotion that he feels he deserves and is qualified for while the boss feels the opposite. A limited resource is being fought over by different visions. The employee will have to do a lot more then just visualize to change his boss’ vision. In general you should ask from abundance to satisfy your flow to be successful!
Anthony Robbins in one of his books also shows how to be successful using visualization. He says that he decided that he wanted a soulmate so he starts with the successful technique of writing out exactly who and what that soulmate should be. He then turns it around and analyses what such a person would want in their soulmate. As he works to create that attracting person the magic happens and they do meet. He was successful because he created the flow between the two of them and didn’t just sit back and visualize with no other effort on his part.
I recently read about the “scientific” experiments related above in a self-help book. The university professors just confirm the truth of a fridge magnet that I have that reads: “Never underestimate the power of stupid people in a large group.” The group sometimes knows so some urban “myths” such as the power of visualization are truths, to those who understand. Visualization is a very effective tool to achieving happiness by receiving what you want but you have to be in the Flow by satisfying the Rules of the Road.
